How did this patient hear about The Chateau? Social Worker at Hospital
Details of Experience:
Michael was admitted to The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center to regain his balance and ability to walk after suffering a pulmonary embolism. Prior to being admitted to the hospital Michael was a very active gentleman; however, after suffering from a blood clot, he was discharged from the hospital and admitted to The Chateau only able to walk approximately 5 feet with a walker. Michael’s gait was also very unsteady subsequently resulting in his inability to perform activities of daily living such as dressing. Upon extensive therapy and rehabilitation programming, Michael was discharged with the ability to walk independently with a straight cane, manage steps and dress himself without any assistance!
Prior to being discharged Michael spoke with a smile from ear to ear and shared, “ The staff have done wonders for me, when I came into The Chateau I was a very sick man. Everyone from the nurses to the therapists put their best foot forward to make sure I was as comfortable and well taken care of as possible. My physical therapist, Melvin, pushed me to the limits and never took no for an answer. When a medical issue came up and my doctors said that I needed a private room for isolation the nurses were able to get me into a private room right away so that I would get better quicker. Overall, my experience at The Chateau has been great and I look forward to coming back and visiting all the staff that have taken such good care of me”.
